Peugeot are trying there hardest to get back to the same area of customers that loved the 205 GTi. The 205 was light, snappy and great at handling. The 208 has all these properties and the small GTi Badge behind the Pillar on the side windows give it that bit extra. Since then 205 GTi they seem to of lost the plot with the 206 and 207 GTi, They were both to ornate and not powerful enough to make people think of it as a proper Hot Hatch.

Peugeot know they got both the 206 and 207 wrong. So they have taken the new 208 and souped it up to give it something extra that the standard models wont come with.  The first place they have started is to give it more power than any of the other specs. With the 1.6, 200HP, Turbo engine from the RCZ it should be good enough to put a smile on anybodys face. Also taking some of the handling aspects from the RCZ it seems they could be onto something good. Coming as standard with 18″ wheels and a wider track than any of the standard model 208′s.

With its red highlights on the interior the car as a whole looks very nice!

All in all it looks like Peugeot could be going for the hot hatch scene again with this new GTI. Will it stand up to its name and badge.
