The Takeri is the latest of the Mazda Concept Cars to use the manufacturers ‘KODO’ – Soul of Motion design language. For what looks like a standard 4 door family saloon car Mazda seem to of come up with something that will fit in well in the real world.
Under the body they have used the economical SKYACTIV drivetrain, and also Mazda’s first regenerative braking system. This in short means the car will save up electricity during deceleration, stores it in capacitors and in turn uses it to power electrical items on the car. Thus in turn saving fuel and money!
The new Mazda is powered by their own SKYACTIV-D diesel engine which incorporates stop-start technology. They are yet to release any information on performance figures or any power outputs, but the Mazda engineers were given the task of keeping the Takeri’s weight to a minimum to enhance fuel figures.
If this car becomes a production car then we have a lot to look forward to. Economical, lightweight family car with some very nice styling!
